Resolutions

It’s that silly time of year when we all are itching for a fresh start in life.  A clean slate.  A new beginning. Blah blah blah…you know the drill…And you know what? I am ALWAYS such a sucker for it.  I LOVE New Years!  I love the idea of starting fresh, and I LOVE getting motivated to do so.

As you know in my last post I stated that I was going to be making some changes in my Second Life.  I haven’t blogged since Wednesday and it’s liberating.  Today I actually felt motivated and driven to work hard on a new post.  I thought maybe I’d share with you all my silly resolutions for 2013.

My 2013 Resolutions

1.) Drink more water.  I know it seems silly but I do not drink enough water.  My goal is the “mandatory” 8 full cups each day.  I even got an iphone app called Daily Water to help me keep track of my fluid intake.  I’m curious to see how much better I feel by drinking more water.

2.) Reach my goal weight.  I have a goal weight set in my mind.  It was my late high school/early college weight and it’s where I personally felt the best about myself.  I want to feel good about myself again, and I know for me personally this is a great way of getting there.  Last year I dropped over 15 lbs in a healthy way.  I was less than 10 lbs away from my goal and unfortunately this holiday season has let me creep back up the scale some.  This year? I’m reaching my goal!  I will be going about this in a healthy fashion by using the My Fitness Pal program.  If you are on it as well feel free to add me!  I’m “HarlowHeslop” on there!

3.  Keep a gratitude journal.  I’ve read that these awesome little journals are a great way to stay motivated and optimistic about your life.  I am typically a pretty optimistic and happy person, but the last six months or so I feel as if I’ve lost that light in my life.  This is just a small gesture in hopes of accomplishing a bigger goal.  December Dollinger mentioned the HappyTapper App for the iphone and I’m excited to try it out in 2013!

4.) Quality over Quantity.  This is my Second Life goal for my blog.  I spoke previously about this goal in my former post.  I really hope to accomplish this in a successful fashion this year.

  • I don’t really do resolutions… but I’ve begun the process of refocusing my efforts with Intuitive Eating over the past couple of weeks, and to help with that I’ll be disabling Plurk for a while. I’m also starting a new class with a new university on January 7th, and I’m really excited about that. I see it as a fresh start, and I admit Plurk is such a distraction that I need the break for that, too. I aim to do as well as I can in the class, without setting a specific goal because I don’t want to overwhelm myself in that way.
