I get the biggest kick out of unique ideas in Second Life. The Dafthouse does an undeniably good job at just that. With the tagline “More than just a coffeehouse, truly a social club” The Dafthouse holds true to its slogan. Tonight they are hosting a Zombie Prom from 4 – 6pm SLT. If you are looking for a creative venue that has plenty to offer, and some of the nicest people on the grid, I really suggest stopping by The Dafthouse. Many of their regulars joined us at The Pixel Bean for our Pixel Prom 2011, and having them as a part of our special event really made the evening fantastic. It’s great being connected up with other wonderful venues in SL, and The Dafthouse really stands above so many of the rest.
I had so much fun shopping for this event. Above you can see my costume I threw together for the prom. I tried to take a little bit of a different approach on the whole “zombie” look. While many people I’m sure will go the route of blood, guts, and brain eating, (omg go check out Bowie Zeplin’s look on her blog. Her and her partner Valen look AMAZING.), I took a little bit of a more settled down and laid back approach. No arm eating for me, but check out that rash crawling on my flesh!
I ventured over to the store Plastik and after spending over an hour oogling at all the amazing items they had to offer (seriously the store has some of the COOLEST and original skins I’ve ever seen in my time in Second Life), I finally settled on a great skin and a great pair of eyes. Plastik really is a great place. I had never been before and the whole place just blew me away. I certainly know where to venture to when I’m looking for some themed items, as well as some beautiful skins or eyes.
Anyway, I hope you take the time to come by Zombie Prom tonight at The Dafthouse. I think it’s going to be a really bloody time!
