If I Could Spread My Wings & Fly

blog_ifIcouldjustspreadmywings

Have you been to the newest version of It All Starts With A Smile? The sim is absolutely lovely and bursting with springtime.  Kaelyn Alecto has done marvelous & generous job of creating a place that others can enjoy, explore, and take photographs at. I’m always appreciative of people who make other places around Second Life for residents to enjoy.  It’s rare to find a place as nice as It All Starts With A Smile.

The Boutique this month boasts a variety of fashionable items that you’ll want to get your paws on.  I think this dress from Junbug is darling. The bow is the perfect addition to the already eye catching gown. Juno Mantel continues to release gorgeous items, and I think you’ll enjoy browsing her marketplace store, as she’s placed quite a few great pieces of attire on there.

Happy shopping & exploring!

Show Your Feminine Side

blog_showyourfemininesidefromtimetotime

The Loft released a gorgeous office set for Collabor88 this month.  I was feeling a bit girly, so I gave the entire scene a girlish flare. Pink! Pink! And more pink! The set includes a lovely and intricately detailed glass top desk, a variety of comfy looking chairs with some great patterns, a desk organizer/phone, a vase of beautiful flowers in many hues, picture frames, a lamp and more.  All can be purchased at great prices at March’s round!

Now, I think I want a pink office for real. How lovely, fun, and girly would that be?

Can You Come & Pick Me Up

blog_canyoucomeandpickmeup

So I can’t say for certain if the long hair suits Mr. Royce, but it was fun playing with a different style/look & trying something new.  I really like this round of The Men’s Dept.  There were a lot of good tops this round, and I had a hard time deciding which one to show you.  I settled on this great biker top from ISON.

I apologize for the lack of quality in this image. I spent a long time setting the shot up, took it, signed offline, and then realized I took it at a low resolution. Grrr. I was too lazy to spend a bunch of time redoing the shot. Shame on me!

I hope all you men out there (and women too! There are a lot of great unisex items) enjoy this month at The Men’s Dept.

Don’t Be Afraid To Try Something New

blog_dontbeafraidtotrysomethingnew

So, I will be the first person to admit that when mesh heads hit the grid, I turned my nose up to them.  I didn’t want to look like everyone else, and I thought everyone looked a bit like a creepy bobble head doll.  I’ll also be the first to admit that when SLink released their mesh head I felt the exact same way (even though I’ve always loved every single thing that SLink releases).  I didn’t even consider trying on a demo, until I was bored the other night.  I figured i’d try one on for giggles, and when I put it on my first reaction was…hmmm. This isn’t that bad. I still wasn’t sold, but I certainly didn’t hate it.

When I found out the SLink Visage Mesh Head had applier options (just like their hands and feet do!), I became a bit more intrigued.  Needless to say, after countless appliers and fun, I am now totally sold on the mesh head.  Is it something I’ll wear 24/7? No it’s not.  Why you ask? Well, I would miss “Harlow” too much and the custom shape I use for her on a daily basis.  Will I use this head for all the awesome emotes (such as the smirk above), and for pictures on occasion? I definitely will!

My favorite part about the mesh head is the emotes/facial expressions it comes with.  The facial emotes include a neutral pose, open mouth, smile, laugh, wink, kiss, frown, sad, bite, sexy, smirk, and surprise options.  I really encourage you to demo this head. I think it’s a fun thing to keep in your inventory and use 24/7, or occasionally like I plan to do!

I also want to make note about my eyes.  They look a bit crossed/off in this pic, and it was because I didn’t not realize I needed to adjust my avatars eye spacing to fit the mesh head.  Such an obvious thing, that I clearly forgot to do! So keep in mind, if you plan to get a mesh head, you will probably have to do a bit of adjusting until you reach satisfaction/perfection!

The beautiful skin I’m wearing is Romy by Glam Affair. It’s going to be at Skin Fair 2014 which will open it’s doors tomorrow. The skin comes in a multitude of options, and also skin appliers for the SLink Visage head. Awesome huh? Skin appliers will help make mesh heads more unique for everyone all around. With countless talented skin makers on the grid, and hopefully with more heads being released, soon enough individuality will be found.

My jacket and jewelry come from two different events this month! The jewelry can be found at March’s FaMESHed, and the awesome blazer can be found at Collabor88. Lots of great finds this month at both events!

I guess the “moral” of this post is to not be afraid to try something new.  Expand your horizons.  You may think you dislike something, but just by trying it out for a while, your opinion may change dramatically. I really didn’t ever expect to be doing a post on mesh heads, but here you have it! Happy exploring & shopping everyone!
